½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter

¾ cup (150 g) brown sugar

1 large egg

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 ¼ cups (155 g) all-purpose flour

½ tsp baking soda

¼ tsp salt

Optional mix-ins: mini chocolate chips, chopped pecans, sea salt flakes
Instructions
1. Brown the butter

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until it foams, then turns golden brown and smells nutty.

Remove from heat and let cool 10 minutes.
2. Make the dough

In a bowl, mix brown sugar with the cooled browned butter.

Add the egg and vanilla; stir until smooth.

Add flour, baking soda, and salt; mix until just combined.

Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.

Chill dough 20–30 minutes for thicker bites.
3. Bake

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Scoop 1-tablespoon portions onto a baking sheet.

Bake 8–10 minutes, until edges are set and centers still soft.

Cool 5 minutes before eating.

Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Bites – Add mini chips + sprinkle with sea salt.
